Way to Go
Way to Go works with clients who are most often living below the Federal Poverty Level. However, we also serve local residents who earn more than the official Federal Poverty Level but less than the basic cost of living and are referred to as Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed (ALICE).
ALICE: A term developed by the United Way to describe clients who earn too much money to qualify for government assistance but need assistance because of economic insecurity. https://unitedforalice.org
Our Mission
We hope to empower low-income, working households in Harrisonburg-Rockingham to improve their quality of life by assisting them with their transportation needs.
Our Vision
We believe that no low-income working family’s employment opportunities should be compromised by a lack of affordable, dependable, legal, and safe transportation.
Our Values
Vulnerable people are subjected daily to difficult realities in our community. If we can help with mobility, people can better deal with their other difficulties.
